Sarah Wildes Arnett is a choreographer, performer, and educator currently residing in South Georgia. She is currently Professor of Dance at Valdosta State University, formerly Interim Department Head for the Department of Communication Arts, and a freelance choreographer and performer for musical theatre, entertainment, and contemporary dance. She was recently recognized with the Presidentiall Excellence Award for Service by the President of Valdosta State University. Her passions outside of dance involve crossfit, photography, and very large dogs!

She received a Master of Fine Arts in Dance Choreography at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Vanderbilt University (TN). A member of the board of directors for the American College Dance Association since 2021, she is the social media committee chair for the organization and has worked closely with the ACDA National Office to assist in organizing ACDA’s 50th Anniversary celebration and National College Dance Festival. She is a certified Aerial Teacher through Born To Fly Curriculum and wrote the aerial dance arts curriculum at VSU adding this new area to the Dance Major. http://www.borntoflyaerial.com/ 

Sarah’s interests are interdisciplinary as she enjoys integrating her talents in film-making, photography, music composition, and physical fitness into her choreography and performance while also expanding boundaries of genre and style. She continues to perform professionally with various companies and artists in the region, including her company SWADanceCo. She has performed in and presented work in NYC and was a company member of Terranova Dance Theatre. You can find her in her free time taking class at Steps on Broadway, seeing a show, or dancing through the streets of New York City. Sarah has spent many seasons with Peach State Summer Theatre as a performer, dance captain, and choreographer for the regional theatre since 2014. Recent choreography credits include The Wizard of Oz, Spamalot, Annie, Mamma Mia!, Hello, Dolly!, Ring of Fire, and Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella (regional) and The Addams Family, Chicago, Bright Star, Guys and Dolls, Cats, and 9 to 5 (VSU).
